My pool smells strongly of ChlorineIt is a common belief that this strong smell is associated with too much chlorine. The opposite is true. It actually means that there is not enough chlorine in the pool. The “chlorine” smell is Chloramines. Pools and spas become contaminated with organic wastes such as sweat, perfume, urine, and other ammonia-containing compounds.

My pool is greenOh dear! You have Algae in your pool! Algae forms usually because there is not enough chlorine in the pool or the pool water is out of balance. Contact us for help. We need to know how green it is. Can you still see the bottom, or is it so green we need a lawn mower?
What is Stabiliser?Stabiliser is like a sunscreen for your pool. It stops the sun dissipating your available chlorine. If you have no stabiliser in you pool you will use twice as much chlorine.
I have a salt pool. Do I have to add chlorine?Absolutely. Your salt chlorinator is a mini liquid chlorine manufacturing plant. It will faithfully continue putting chlorine in your pool. However it doesn't know if it has been really hot, or if many people or the dog have been swimming in the pool. You should shock (add chlorine) your pool once a week or after heavy usage.

I Have Black Spot AlgaeBlack Spot Algae is the hardest to control. It is best to prevent it rather than go through the heartache of eradicating it. You would be best to come and visit us, and don't forget to bring some pool water for testing.
My dog swims in my pool. Is this okay? It's okay as long as you ensure that you add plenty of chlorine in the evening. A dog in a pool is the same as having 30 people swimming in the pool. As soon as the dog hits the water he urinates.
I get lots of leaves in my pool. What does this mean?It means you may have a high phosphate reading which will make your pool water difficult to balance. We can test your water and treat it with Pool Pro Phosphate Remover. We may even have a leaf skimmer available that is suitable for your pool!
